Oxford Royale Academy
During the Oxford Royale Academy Computer Science program at Oxford University, students acquired a solid foundation in computer science. The three principal areas were scientific programming, web design and informatics. The course introduced Java Programming including array handling and control structures. Students created a Banking System in Java. The web programming covered both the design and composition of web pages and placed it within the social and technological context of the internet. Students created their own webpages according to the W3C HTML5 and CSS3 standards. Students learned how to define data as distinct from information or knowledge and how it is stored in various formats. Students acquired the ability to critically analyse the representation of data in scientific contexts. The course enabled students to utilise computers for efficient problem solving and communication.
