VEX Robotics
World Championship
During my high school year in the USA as an exchange student at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics, I had the opportunity to work with a great time of talented people on VEX robotics. For most of us it was the first time taking part in robotics and VEX Robotics in particular. I supervised the software development and managed the integration of the software with the robot. I mostly used C++ with the custom PROS editor to develop the software for the main runtime of the robot. Thanks to an overall great team work, we qualified for the State competition, and later for the World Championship. Apart from being a fascinating experience, it was an opportunity to understand the development process of software for mechanical systems and vehicles, and the uncommon challenges that are faced even when building a simple robotic arm.
